Music Video - Parallel Me

Published on Nov 3, 2010

A moving and original ballad about the choices we make in life and love gained and lost. The beautiful animation uses painstakingly hand-crafted paper figures to portray the story of two lovers who are separated by time and space. The song was written and produced by Tal More of The Quiet Revolution, with me playing piano. You can find The Quiet Revolution's music site and myspace here:

Music Video - Wonderful

We asked on Twitter if anyone knew an animator to work with us on the video for our new single. We got plenty of replies but one stood out.

Wendy, Lee and Carol saw us supporting Hole in LA last year and had just finished making their first stop motion film, Patti Down the Rabbit Hole (with Patti Smith as Alice in Wonderland). That was enough to convince us.

After two months, lots of late night Skyping, a dining table transformed into a beach, and over two thousand photos we had a video. And we think it's wonderful.

You can see more of Wendy, Lee and Carol's work on the Shipmate Title site (http://shipmatetitle.tumblr.com) and discover more about the song and the band on the Little Fish site (http://littlefishmusic.com/wonderful).

The Mysterious Stranger

Uploaded by YouTuber Shaman Spirit

And here is one based on a story by Mark Twain.

Uploaded on Aug 7, 2007

Mysterious Stranger by Mark Twain. A stop motion clay animation of Mark Twain's Mysterious Stranger. Done by Will Vinton. Censored from some television stations.

"THE ADVENTURES OF MARK TWAIN depicts the author's journey to meet up with Haley's comet (Twain, who was born in a year in which Haley's comet appeared, rightly predicted his death would coincide with its next visit in 1910). Also on board were three stowaways, Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn and Becky Thatcher, whose presence enabled Twain to tell them such stories as The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County and The Diary of Adam and Eve (which was incorporated into the story). When simple recitations were not possible, plot devices like the Index-O-Vator and Astro-viewer were introduced to permit visits to The Mysterious Stranger and Capt. Stormfield. Like its subject, the film was a showcase of Vinton's career thus far, featuring clay paintings, caricatures, morphing and lip-syncing."

I'd love to hear your comments.
